On my one child-free day in NYC, I made the pilgrimage to Purl, in Soho. To say I was excited is a slight understatement. I think I scarred the salesgirl.
In spite of this, she was very nice and patiently guided me through the process of selecting both a pattern and a wool.
Patience was required because, in the face of so much choice, I went on a mental flight-of-the-bumble-bee, overcome with indecision. (That's not me in the hat).
Ultimately, of course, I came back to the very combination I had in mind before I stepped through the door: the Easy Mistake Scarf in Boiled Lobster cashmere, from Lobster Pot Yarns.
It will be a long time before I am worthy of cashmere, so my three precious skeins will stay safely tucked away while I do a demo (or twelve) in regular worsted wool. CB has a lot of practice scarves on his horizon. Sorry, honey.
