Purl

Friday, July 24, 2009

On my one child-free day in NYC, I made the pilgrimage to Purl, in Soho.  To say I was excited is a slight understatement.  I think I scarred the salesgirl.

In spite of this, she was very nice and patiently guided me through the process of selecting both a pattern and a wool.

Patience was required because, in the face of so much choice, I went on a mental flight-of-the-bumble-bee, overcome with indecision.  (That's not me in the hat).

Ultimately, of course, I came back to the very combination I had in mind before I stepped through the door: the Easy Mistake Scarf in Boiled Lobster cashmere, from Lobster Pot Yarns

It will be a long time before I am worthy of cashmere, so my three precious skeins will stay safely tucked away while I do a demo (or twelve) in regular worsted wool.   CB has a lot of practice scarves on his horizon.  Sorry, honey.

  1. Forgot to mention the first three images are from Flickr Creative Commons, from Jennib320, amatricis, and striatic, respectively. The final image is from Purl. Kate
